Though Michael tries to still promote interest in the Café Disco everyone wishes Michael would stop his shenanigans. Michael throws his keys at Erin, tells her to "shut it down", and storms into his office to eat his lunch alone. Kelly helps Erin dismantle the Café Disco but when Kelly turns off the light, Erin decides to turn on the boom box. They begin dancing, and Leo from the warehouse notices them. In no time, the room is packed with nearly everyone from the office and even Erin's friend Ashley. Upstairs, Michael hears the music from the revived Café Disco and follows it. Andy begins a dance off with Kelly. Creed donates the mini disco ball he'd been using as a rearview mirror. Angela walks straight under the limbo pole and tries to get Michael to sign some papers. Michael refuses to sign more than one paper per song, exasperating Angela. Michael further forbids her to clean up to which Angela exclaims "am I not allowed to have some fun?"
He later attempts to send subliminal messages to her while she sleeps by saying "evil," but it quickly stops when Flame Princess wakes up and sees this, leaving her shocked. He does so again at the start of "Vault of Bones" but stops upon realizing that she is not alone, causing Finn to look for a way to counteract his influence.
Jake seems glad to see Finn happy with Flame Princess, as he was the one to seek her after Finn was rejected by Princess Bubblegum. Jake also keeps his distance when Finn and Flame Princess are together, as shown in "Burning Low" when Finn asks Jake if he wants to check out Flame Princess' new house and he politely refuses and tells them to go ahead. Also in "Vault of Bones," while Flame Princess and Finn are playing cards, Jake offers them chamomile tea to show his support of their relationship.
In "Frost & Fire," Finn and Flame Princess were interrupted by Ice King in the middle of a picnic. After Flame Princess beats up Ice King for insulting her, Finn started to have weird dreams with the Cosmic Owl in it, but kept waking up before he could finish the dream. Finn tries to get Flame Princess and Ice King fight by writing insulting messages about them and claiming the other sent it. This, however, leads to Finn attempting to apologize and to continue their relationship, but to no avail as Flame Princess leaves saying "...I need some time alone."
In "Too Old," it is revealed Finn took Flame Princess's words the wrong way, and thought she had dumped him, and therefore made one last attempt at Princess Bubblegum. It failed as usual, and he told Jake he has to "Patch things up with Flame Princess." So it is unknown if they got back together or not, as Jake ominously stated Flame Princess could have already replaced Finn with a new boyfriend.
As the days in the Fire Kingdom pass, an admirer of Flame Princess, who planned to help the Flame King escape in order to get her hand in marriage, broke into the kingdom and brainwashed the citizens, eliciting them to free the imprisoned king and turn against the princess. As Flame Princess was about to overpower him, she discovered the betrayal of her handmaiden Ursula, who had secretly poisoned her to impede her ability to fight and weakened her powers in order to help Flame King and Don John with her coup. Cinnamon Bun, unaffected by the spell Don John had cast, charged in and managed to help her escape. Flame Princess then came to a conclusion to seek help from Finn and explained specifically to him that they are not getting back together. Unfortunately, her explanation was to no avail when Finn impulsively charged into the Fire Kingdom in an attempt to win over the princess' affections, resulting in their imprisonment. Outraged, the princess turned both of her admirers down and told them that she did not have any feelings for them. This caused Don John to feel cheated and fought Flame King as the two prisoners made their escape with Cinnamon Bun, who managed to defeat the guards and steal the key. During his skirmish with the brainwashed citizens, he receives an attack and became fully baked before Don John's spell went off after his defeat during his battle with the Flame King.

In "The Red Throne," after being secretly poisoned by her treacherous hand maiden and escaping Flame Lord, Flame Princess seeks help from Finn in order to save the Fire Kingdom. Despite apprising Finn specifically that they are not getting back together and that they are only meeting so that he can help her reclaim her kingdom, Finn tried to impress the princess with his improved swordsmanship and showed-off impulsively by charging into the Fire Kingdom, which annoyed Flame Princess. In the dungeon, Finn revealed that he thinks that Flame Princess still has feelings for him, to which she protests.
In "Bun Bun," Finn delivers Bun Bun to the Fire Kingdom. Flame Princess was excited to see him and invited him in for lunch. Finn apologized more sincerely this time, saying "I said I was sorry but I didn't fully understand what I had done wrong." Flame Princess was happy to hear that and said that he's grown up a lot. After this the two have fun as friends and are now seen casually together without any drama.
